Smart Rotating Base

Smart Rotating Base The Smart Rotating Base is an optional accessory designed specifically for CODE27. It allows you to manually rotate CODE27 and enables automatic face tracking, helping CODE27 stay oriented toward you. Powering On the Base The power button is located at the back of the Smart Rotating Base. Locate the small button marked with a red dot. Press the button to turn on the base. The four power indicator lights on the front of the base will light up. Each indicator light represents approximately 25% of the battery level. For example: 1 light: approximately 25% 2 lights: approximately 50% 3 lights: approximately 75% 4 lights: approximately 100% If the base is not fully charged, some of the indicator lights will remain off. Mounting CODE27 To securely mount CODE27 onto the Smart Rotating Base: Locate the two raised points on the top of the base. Align them with the two corresponding holes on the bottom of CODE27. Place CODE27 onto the base and make sure it is securely positioned. Once CODE27 is mounted, use the built-in USB-C cable on the base to provide power to CODE27. Connect the cable to the USB-C power port on the right side of CODE27. Manual Rotation Once CODE27 is connected to the base, you can manually rotate the base and CODE27 together using the two buttons on the right side of the base. Left button: Rotate clockwise Right button: Rotate counterclockwise Press the corresponding button to adjust the direction of CODE27. Face Tracking The Smart Rotating Base can automatically turn CODE27 toward you using Face Tracking. To enable Face Tracking: Open Settings on CODE27. Select External Devices. Select Base. Turn on Face Tracking. Return to Chat Mode. When Face Tracking is enabled, the white indicator light next to the camera will turn on. CODE27 can then automatically turn toward you as you move. Charging the Smart Rotating Base When the base is running low on battery, the first indicator light will continuously flash, reminding you to recharge the base. The charging port is located directly below the power button on the back of the base. To charge the Smart Rotating Base: Locate the USB-C charging port below the power button. Use the power adapter and USB-C cable included with CODE27. Connect the cable to the charging port on the base. Moving CODE27 with the Base The Smart Rotating Base does not need to remain connected to external power while you move CODE27 to another location. When moving CODE27 with the Smart Rotating Base attached: Disconnect the base from its power source. Support both the base and CODE27 with both hands. Carefully move them to the desired location. We recommend using both hands to support the base and CODE27 together to help prevent accidental drops.

CODE27 Update: Wave 4 Shipping & Roadmap

tl;dr Summary: ~168/500 shipped of Wave 4 as of 6/2/2026 Sea freight shipping takes a long time Revised roadmap Dear CODE27 Family, We have received feedback from our community requesting clarification on the shipping process. “Shipped” refers to units that have been “shipped” from our production facility and are currently in transport. “Fulfillment” is the entire process from manufacturing, being packed in regional batches, given to our shipping partner who then ships by various methods including freight (big storage container containing many orders together) to a fulfillment warehouse in your country, shipped again by your local domestic courier (as a single package with a last mile tracking number that we email to you), and finally your order arrives at your door. An order is considered fulfilled when you have received it. Shipping by sea has proved more variable than expected, meaning some orders arrive days after being shipped by our production facility, and other orders might take weeks from being shipped from our production facility. There is also the variable time of being processed by your local customs. For what we can control, our rolling production and shipments is on track to ship out 500 units by the end of early June but sea freight and customs processing has varied from a few days to weeks. We would also like to clarify the regional differences. There are currently 5 different package variations US / EU / AU / UK / JP that only differ by plug, packaged together per batch. This is a standard manufacturing process, not prioritization of any region. The latest van shipment was black CODE27 units but the overall 4th wave contains both black and white units. These are currently in production and another van is planned to take more units to our shipping partner next weekend (not this weekend). Pink CODE27s are still currently estimated for July to August. We hope this clears up any confusion regarding how fulfillment works. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact service@code27.co or create a ticket in our Discord's support-ticket channel. Slight Roadmap Changes📋 We have now shipped early versions of Codie Spaces, Bluetooth connectivity, and we continue progress on voice quality, memory and overall user experience. CODE27 Devlog: $10M Funding, New Proactive Feature, and Batch 2 Production

tl;dr Summary: CODE27 has raised over $10M in additional funding New Feature: Proactive Conversations - Your Codie can now initiate conversations Software and Firmware Improvements Current Fulfillment Status: 100+ shipped Next ~500 batch production continues to progress Dear CODE27 Family, CODE27 has now raised an additional $10M across our seed and seed extension rounds, backed by leading venture firms including Plug and Play. Here's what it means for you. Hardware is expensive to scale. Going from Kickstarter production to retail shelves means new tooling, larger manufacturing runs, and inventory that has to exist before it sells. This funding makes that possible. We're partnering with leading Japanese retailers and expanding from there. Demo units are already on display at select locations for pre-orders. Crowdfunding orders will be fulfilled before any retail orders ship. Beyond hardware, this funding accelerates the marketplace, brings officially licensed characters through partnerships with beloved IP, and grows the team across Silicon Valley, Tokyo, and the rest of the world. And through all of it, the vision hasn't changed. While everyone else is building smarter tools, we're building the home for companions you'd actually want to come back to. Full press announcement: https://code27.co/blogs/news/code27-secures-over-10-million-in-funding-to-build-immersive-interactive-character-companion-hardware Now, onto your regular update. We have a software update in preparation along with continued progress on the next production batch. Software Progress Here's what's coming in our next software update. C.O.D.I.E. Framework Improvements Proactive Conversations Your Codie can now start conversations with you, rather than only responding when spoken to. General UI/UX Improvements Improved experience for accessing Diaries and other memory related features Improved experience for backup features using microSD cards Improved interaction flows for initial setup, connection and settings. Improved voice selection previews Improved chat control panel experience Improved upload process for custom 3D models Stability and Bug Fixes Fixed an issue where continuous voice mode detection could stop working Fixed a timeout issue when uploading large character model files Fixed a possible issue encountered during OTA firmware update process Improved Bluetooth connectivity experience Content Progress Art takes time and our 3D modelers, artists and content teams are still working on additional Codies, Codie Spaces, outfits, and animations. Next Batch Production Progress The next ~500 unit batch continues to progress smoothly through production. As many know, due to rising components costs, many brands from large to small, made cuts to their hardware specifications. We also faced this same component availability issue but we successfully resolved it by leveraging our supplier relationships and authorizing premium expedite protocols to secure our allocation. The additional funding mentioned earlier goes right into the project and ensures we overcome any hurdle, without resorting to switching to lower quality components. As our hardware uses custom-specified components that are sourced per production run, these are not the kind of parts that can simply be bulk-ordered far in advance. We design and build our own hardware from the board to the display tech. Hardware is hard and we're taking the time to do things right rather than rebrand a cheap cylinder with just a screen. We'll continue to keep you updated as things move forward. What's Next Getting that next ~500 unit batch out the factory and into backers' hands Improving conversation quality, long-term memory and customization features Additional Codies & Codie Spaces development Resolving issues reported by early recipients Address Reminder If your shipping address has changed since you backed, please contact service@code27.co as soon as possible so we can make sure your unit reaches you. Product Support If you're experiencing any issues with your unit, please open a ticket in our Discord channel support-ticket at https://discord.gg/CODE27 or email service@code27.co so our team can help you directly. CODE27 Devlog: Shipping Progress & Backer Unboxings

Dear CODE27 family, Part of our team is on holiday right now, but we wanted to get this update to you rather than wait. Shipping Progress Units from our third wave are arriving to backers. We love seeing your unboxing photos and first interactions. Got your CODE27? Share your photos and videos in social media. If you're happy for us to reshare your post on our official social media channels, include "OK to share" in your message or in a follow-up message referencing your post. Tag us in your photos or clips:@CODE27_official on X@CODE27_SyBran on Instagram@CODE27_SyBran on YouTube More shipments from this wave are going out as they clear logistics. If your shipping address has changed since you backed, please contact service@code27.co as soon as possible so we can make sure your unit reaches you. Our production timeline targets remain the same as our last announcement: 500 units in March, 1,200 in April, with all Kickstarter fulfillment targeted for mid-2026. Pink is now estimated for April–May delivery due to the small quantity and focus on ramping production of black and white units. We will let you know if anything changes regarding these timelines. Setup Experience Some of you have noticed that during initial setup, there was a bug that could exit into the device's underlying system layer. We're aware of this and are currently investigating. Please note that interacting with the system layer outside of the CODE27 experience may cause unexpected behavior and interfere with your ability to receive future software updates. Like most modern consumer electronics, from smart displays to car infotainment systems to gaming consoles, our device runs on a customized embedded operating system as its foundation. What you're seeing when this happens is the base system layer that sits underneath the CODE27 experience. This isn't something you'd encounter during normal use, but we didn't do a good enough job ensuring the setup flow brings you directly into the companion experience without any way to wander into the system underneath. This is on us. Our team is actively investigating the root cause to ensure we get the right fix out, and we will push a firmware update over the air as soon as it's ready. We want to make sure every user goes from first boot straight into the CODE27 experience without interruption. Thank you to those of you who flagged this in the community channels. Your feedback directly improves the product for everyone still waiting for their unit. Voice Quality We want to address something directly, because some of you have mentioned it and we'd rather you hear it from us. The voice on shipped units sounds different from what was shown at Wonder Festival and in our influencer demo builds. You're right, and we hear you. The builds shown at Wonder Festival were running newer test software with features, including a more expressive voice engine, that have not yet been stabilized for production deployment. The units shipping now are running our current production software, and the voice does not have the same level of emotional expressiveness. This includes natural laughs, whispers, and tonal reactions that were present in the demo builds. As many of you know, CODE27 was designed from the start as a customizable platform. Our roadmap has always included the ability for users to configure their own preferred TTS, LLM, ASR, and more. That customization layer is still being developed. When it's ready, you'll be able to connect your own preferred voice providers if you choose to. In the meantime, we are not waiting around. Improving your Codie's voice is one of our top engineering priorities. Emotional expressiveness, natural reactions, and overall warmth are all areas we're actively working on, and you will hear improvements arrive through software updates. Your feedback on voice quality matters and directly informs these decisions. Codie Spaces For those who saw the Wonder Festival demo, you'll have seen a preview of the feature and might have noticed Codie Spaces is not yet in the current software for the CODE27 device. The initial release of Codie Spaces will feature our own 3D environments, with customization opening up in a later update. This is in active development and will be delivered through software updates. Custom Models & File Format Support Some of you have noticed that certain VRM files aren't loading on the device. This is due to a file size limitation in the current software that affects larger or more detailed models. A software update to support larger files is on the way. In the meantime, larger VRM files can be transferred via microSD card. We also know many of you have characters in formats beyond VRM. Right now, the device supports VRM 0.x and 1.x. We've published a written guide and video guide for converting FBX models to VRM, and a similar guide for PMX/PMD conversion is coming soon. We're also developing automatic conversion software to simplify this process. Expanded format support remains on our roadmap, and we'll share more on timing in a future update. Early Adopter Experience We know that some of you receiving units right now are finding that the experience does not yet reflect the full vision of what CODE27 will be. Features that were part of the original promise, like deeper customization options, Codie Spaces, and broader file format support, are on our roadmap and will be rolling out through software updates. We hear the feedback and it is directly shaping our update priorities. If you're an early recipient, please know your feedback is actively shaping the product for the thousands of backers. Every improvement driven by your feedback reaches all units through software updates, so the experience keeps getting better for everyone. We are committed to closing the gap between where the product is today and where it needs to be through consistent software updates over the coming weeks and months. If you're a VIP Kickstarter backer, your bonuses will be shipped separately. We apologize for the inconvenience and prior miscommunication. What's Next Our development team returns from holiday this week. Top priorities upon return: Voice quality improvements, with a focus on expressiveness and natural reactions Resolving issues reported by early recipients Codie Spaces development Continued progress on the C.O.D.I.E. Framework, including long-term memory and customization If you're experiencing any issues with your unit, please open a ticket in our Discord channel support-ticketat https://discord.gg/CODE27 or email service@code27.co so our team can help you directly. If you've noticed dust particles inside your device, please contact us right away and we will arrange an exchange. CODE27 Update: Software Polish, Audio/Display Tuning & Mold Validation

Dear CODE27 Family, Thank you for your continued patience as we push through the final stages of refinement. Following the learnings from our October shipment test, the team has been implementing critical hardware and software improvements. Below is a detailed overview of what we've completed over the past two weeks. Software Progress Conversation Improvements We have upgraded our C.O.D.I.E. framework with a larger core AI model and refined the underlying context engineering. These updates result in more stable, in-character conversations that maintain context more reliably over longer sessions. Initial Setup and UX Refinements We fixed a touch input issue that caused swipes and taps to feel sluggish or unresponsive. Navigation on the device’s small display is now smoother and more consistent. We also improved the UI/UX for the initial setup flow, including redesigned Wi-Fi configuration screens and a new boot animation. Codie Spaces Visual Upgrades The environmental assets inside Codie Spaces have been improved with higher-resolution textures and better lighting. The environment now looks sharper and runs more efficiently. Character Model & Animation Enhancements We completed another optimization pass on the included Codies. This includes new outfits, repaired and reprocessed motion capture animations, and additional facial blendshapes for more expressive behaviors. Connectivity Stability Both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi performance have been optimized for more demanding environments. We also fixed an issue that occasionally prevented Bluetooth audio from playing. Audio & Hardware Progress Sound Quality Improvements We refined the speaker magnets to improve bass response and dynamic range. The upgraded magnetic configuration delivers deeper low frequencies with cleaner vocals. This improvement is being integrated into the next batch of units. Display Refinement The main display has been optimized to achieve deeper black levels and reduce interference from the surrounding LED lighting. Interface Board Fix We resolved a headphone jack compatibility issue discovered during testing. A revised interface board with the permanent fix is now in production. Tooling and Next Batch Preparation Manufacturing tooling and molds have been refined based on feedback from the October shipment test. These have now passed validation and are ready for the next small shipment batch. Looking Ahead We believe in being transparent about our progress, challenges, and improvements. Your support continues to motivate us as we work toward delivering a solid and reliable product. While software can always be updated over time, we are taking this period to ensure that the hardware foundation is durable, stable, and built to last. We are currently preparing the second small shipment batch before moving into broader production and fulfillment. Thank you again for your patience and trust. We are committed to getting your Codies home to you. With sincere gratitude,The CODE27 Team

CODE27 Update: Manufacturing Optimizations, Firmware Fixes & Tooling Adjustments

Dear CODE27 Family, We're back with updates on completed improvements to the CODE27 device and the results of our initial shipment tests and the next steps we have taken based on them. Thank you for your continued support. Hardware Manufacturing Progress Our manufacturing partners have completed critical system optimizations that enhance quality and reliability. Display Firmware Optimization Additional display performance issues identified in testing have been successfully resolved through firmware optimization, delivering stable visual performance across all operating conditions. Power System Stability Achieved Voltage ripple fluctuations during system startup have been resolved through power management optimization, ensuring stable electrical performance. Manufacturing Process Refinement Following our late October shipment test, (Murphy's law proved correct) manufacturing tooling and molds are undergoing refinement to address feedback from assembled test units. Our partners are implementing adjustments to injection mold parameters, assembly fixture designs, and quality control checkpoints to optimize production consistency. Packaging design is also being refined based on how units held up during transit. This iterative refinement is a critical phase in validating our manufacturing processes before scaled production. Platform Security Enhancement Completed routine backend maintenance and platform improvements to strengthen security and account data systems. Moving Forward We remain deeply grateful for your patience and trust. Shipment testing was a crucial step towards a smooth fulfillment process, and we are now working directly with our manufacturing partners to address the identified issues and refine our manufacturing processes and quality control procedures. We are committed to delivering a device that meets the quality standards you deserve. Our focus remains on hardware fulfillment and ensuring CODE27 exceeds your expectations. With sincere gratitude, The CODE27 Team

Smart Rotating BaseSmart Rotating Base The Smart Rotating Base is an optional accessory designed specifically for CODE27. Nigel 2 min read

CODE27 Update: Wave 4 Shipping & Roadmaptl;dr Summary: ~168/500 shipped of Wave 4 as of 6/2/2026 Sea freight shipping takes a long time Revised roadmap Dear CODE27 Family, We have received feedback from our community requesting clarification on the shipping process. Based on community feedback, we are shifting priorities to add custom voicebanks and custom model APIs to let you use bring your own model (BYOM). We are also increasing the priority on PC linkage abilities. Smart Rotating Base previously appeared in the 'Later' and has been moved to our 'Next' section, meaning our team is working on its development and looking forward to sharing more details soon. Progress Update: New Features, Chip Assembly, and Shipping Statustl;dr Summary: Early version of Codie Spaces and Diaries added New Original Codie Elias and additional outfit for Elena Production of components completed, entered chip assembly stage Improving manufacturing processes to resolve dust issues took longer than estimated; new target for ~500 unit batch second half of May. Firmware improvements and bug fixes Current Fulfillment Status: 100+ shipped Dear CODE27 Family, Our team has been working closely with our manufacturing partner to improve our processes for mass production, and resolving the dust issue that affected a handful of units took longer than estimated. Simultaneously, the team has been working on Codie Spaces, improving character interactions, squashing bugs and working on revising the roadmap based on your feedback. Software Progress New Ways to Interact with Your Codie We're developing a new way for you to physically interact with your Codie. You'll be able to touch, pat, and play with your Codie and see them respond naturally in the moment. Codie Spaces An early version of Codie Spaces is coming to CODE27, with a curated set of built-in environments your Codie can inhabit. Customization will follow in later updates. Alongside this, we're improving camera controls within these spaces, including angle selection and smoother zoom. Diaries and Long-Term Memory Your Codie will remember your time together through Diaries. Coming in the next update, you'll be able to browse individual memories as cards, so you can see what they remember. This is another step towards the deeper Diaries experience we're building. Elias will be available in the upcoming update. Firmware Progress Resolved an anomaly in the OTA firmware update process Improved an issue where part of the LED array could fail to illuminate at startup Optimizations for Bluetooth control behavior, pending validation in the next build LED behavior now syncs with screen state: lights off when the screen sleeps, on when the screen wakes Production Update Over the past two weeks, the next batch of CODE27 units has progressed to the next stage of production. The new batch of mainboards is complete and now entering chip assembly. Alongside that, we've been refining our production process, our assembly line environment, and the equipment on the line itself to improve consistency as we scale from small batches into the hundreds of units in this run. Part of this work addresses the dust issue that affected a small number of early units, which are being handled through exchanges. This additional preparation is the reason the 500-unit batch is likely to end up in May. We wanted to let you know as soon as we know. Updated Production Timeline Now: 100+ units shipped Second-half of May: 500 units targeted May - June: 1,200 units targeted June to July: Pink units Mid-2026: Goal to complete all Kickstarter fulfillment What's Next Completing production of the next 500-unit batch Revised roadmap details Continued voice expressiveness work Continued progress on the C.O.D.I.E. CODE27 Devlog: $10M Funding, New Proactive Feature, and Batch 2 Productiontl;dr Summary: CODE27 has raised over $10M in additional funding New Feature: Proactive Conversations - Your Codie can now initiate conversations Software and Firmware Improvements Current Fulfillment Status: 100+ shipped Next ~500 batch production continues to progress Dear CODE27 Family, CODE27 has now raised an additional $10M across our seed and seed extension rounds, backed by leading venture firms including Plug and Play. CODE27 Devlog: Shipping Progress & Backer UnboxingsDear CODE27 family, Part of our team is on holiday right now, but we wanted to get this update to you rather than wait.
